Duplex Steel Blind Flanges consist primarily of chromium (21–23%), nickel (4.5–6.5%), and molybdenum (2.5–3.5%), and have a dual-phase microstructure of ferrite and austenite. The elements present in the alloy give it an outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress-corrosion cracking. They have a tensile strength within the range of 620–850 MPa and a yield strength of approximately 450–550 MPa. These flanges retain good impact strength, can be easily welded, and their structure remains stable even at high pressure and high-temperature conditions, thus, they are able to give excellent mechanical performance in the tough, and even, corrosive, industrial environments.
